Investment Counselor

Position Title: Investment Counselor

Position Overview:

Our client, a nationally recognized investment management firm, is seeking an Investment Counselor to support a roster of high-net-worth clients. This role is focused exclusively on client relationship management and investment education, not prospecting or cold sales.

The Investment Counselor serves as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, helping them understand portfolio strategy, market developments, and long-term investment planning. This is an excellent opportunity for finance professionals who enjoy relationship management and consultative conversations without the pressure of business development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary relationship manager for a roster of high-net-worth clients.
  • Educate clients on portfolio strategy and capital market developments.
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews and asset allocation discussions.
  • Explain investment philosophy and market positioning in clear, client-friendly language.
  • Partner with internal portfolio decision-makers and research teams.
  • Collaborate with client service associates to ensure operational accuracy.
  • Support client onboarding and account transitions as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of client interactions and portfolio discussions.
  • Participate in structured training and professional development programs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience building client relationships within the finance or investment industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Series 65 required (support available for candidates who need to obtain it).
  • Experience working with high-net-worth or retail investment clients preferred.
  • Consultative communication style with strong client focus.
  • Strong interest in capital markets and portfolio strategy.
