Position Overview:
Our client, a growing retirement advisory organization serving small and mid-sized businesses, is seeking a Contract Senior B2B Content Strategist & Writer to develop and execute high-impact content strategies that support revenue growth, lead generation, and advisor engagement.
This is a high-visibility, full-time contract role embedded within both the retirement business line and marketing organization. The ideal candidate combines strong strategic thinking with deep B2B writing experience and the ability to simplify complex financial and retirement topics for business audiences. This is not a purely creative writing role; it requires commercial acumen, audience segmentation expertise, and performance-driven content development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a comprehensive B2B content strategy aligned with business objectives and buyer journey stages.
- Develop targeted content strategies for retirement plan sponsors (B2B) and plan participants (B2B2C).
- Conduct audience segmentation and persona development to tailor messaging to decision-makers and influencers.
- Map content across awareness, consideration, and decision phases.
- Manage multi-channel distribution strategies, including blogs, whitepapers, case studies, email campaigns, webinars, and social media.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex retirement and financial concepts into accessible language.
- Partner with marketing, sales, and product teams to support lead generation and conversion initiatives.
- Establish and maintain editorial calendars aligned with campaign objectives.
- Track performance metrics (traffic, engagement, conversion) and optimize content strategies accordingly.
- Utilize SEO best practices and data-driven approaches, including A/B testing.
- Develop executive-level thought leadership content.
- Maintain consistent brand voice and messaging standards across channels.
- Produce both long-form (whitepapers, eBooks, research reports) and short-form digital content.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in B2B content strategy and writing.
- Experience in highly technical or regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of SEO, content marketing, and lead generation principles.
- Experience working in financial services, retirement services, or investment environments preferred.
- Familiarity with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo) and analytics tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of compliance considerations in regulated content environments.
