Position Overview:
Our client, a nationally recognized retirement services organization, is seeking experienced Client Service Managers to support Multiple Employer Plans (MEPs) and Pooled Employer Plans (PEPs). This role is responsible for managing approximately 65 defined contribution plans and serving as the primary relationship contact for assigned clients.
The ideal candidate brings strong, defined contribution expertise, hands-on experience addressing cross-testing and compliance matters, and the ability to consult directly with plan sponsors on plan design, corrections, and regulatory requirements. This is a client-facing, relationship-driven role within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary point of contact for assigned MEP/PEP plan relationships.
- Provide proactive client service and ensure high retention levels.
- Consult with plan sponsors regarding cross-testing issues, corrections, and plan design.
- Communicate and resolve client inquiries related to compliance, reporting, and plan operations.
- Coordinate with brokers, investment advisors, trust companies, auditors, and third-party vendors.
- Research and resolve complex client issues.
- Document procedures and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Manage escalations and collaborate with internal teams to ensure resolution.
- Maintain strong communication via written and verbal correspondence.
- Travel up to 10% as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in retirement services.
- Direct experience managing MEP and/or PEP relationships.
- Full complement of defined contribution plan experience.
- Hands-on experience discussing cross-testing, plan corrections, and PBGC-related matters with clients.
- Demonstrated relationship management skills.
- Strong project management abilities.
- Experience working with multiple industry stakeholders (advisors, auditors, vendors).
- Bachelor’s degree in business related field preferred.
- Experience with DST or similar systems preferred.
