Senior Pension Administrator

Position Title: Senior Pension Administrator
*Boston, MA (In-Office; eligible for 1 remote day per week after 6 months)

Position Overview:

Our client, a boutique third-party administration firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Pension Administrator to manage a book of small defined contribution plans. This is a full-time, in-office role supporting approximately 100–120 small DC plans (no large filers).

The ideal candidate will bring strong A–Z plan administration experience, deep knowledge of ERISA regulations, and the ability to manage a high-volume book independently. This position is suited for someone who is collaborative, organized, and confident working directly with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary day-to-day contact for assigned retirement plan clients.
  • Manage full-cycle administration for 100+ small defined contribution plans.
  • Collect and track data necessary for annual compliance and valuation reporting.
  • Perform contribution calculations (including age-weighted, integrated, and cross-tested).
  • Conduct compliance and non-discrimination testing.
  • Reconcile trust assets to participant account balances.
  • Prepare and review government reporting forms and required schedules.
  • Communicate directly with investment providers and external partners.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all plan deliverables.
  • Maintain compliance with ERISA and related pension regulations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in retirement plan administration.
  • Proven ability to handle 100+ small defined contribution plans independently.
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA and pension regulations.
  • Experience working in a TPA environment.
  • College degree preferred.
  • QKA or QPA designation preferred.
  • Experience with pension administration software (ASC preferred; Relius or Corbel a plus).
  • Ability to work onsite five days per week initially.
