Position Overview:
Our client, a nationally recognized retirement services organization, is seeking a Retirement Plan Consultant to serve as the primary ERISA compliance and plan design resource for assigned retirement plan clients. This individual will act as the single point of contact for plan sponsors and financial advisors, providing technical guidance, compliance oversight, and consultative support.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on ERISA compliance experience, including advanced testing and Form 5500 preparation, along with the ability to consult confidently with clients. Experience with larger, audit-sized plans and New Comparability allocation methods is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary contact for assigned retirement plan clients.
- Conduct client meetings (virtual and in-person as needed).
- Perform and oversee annual compliance testing, including:
- ADP/ACP
- Top Heavy
- 410(b)
- 415
- 401(a)(4)
- 402(g)
- Deductibility testing
- Prepare and review Form 5500 filings and coordinate timely submission.
- Assist with plan design updates and document amendments.
- Provide guidance on IRS and Department of Labor compliance requirements.
- Support plan terminations and conversion processes.
- Review loan and distribution requests and coordinate processing.
- Assist with large plan audits and regulatory examinations.
- Mentor and collaborate with coordinators and support staff.
- Maintain compliance deadlines and ensure accurate reporting.
- Protect confidential client data in accordance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on ERISA compliance experience preferred.
- Strong experience with compliance testing and Form 5500 preparation.
- Experience with audit-sized larger plans.
- Experience with employer allocation methods, including New Comparability (required for top compensation range).
- Client consulting experience required.
- ASC software experience preferred (training available).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong analytical background with financial data review experience.

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
