Position Overview:

Our client, an established third-party retirement plan administration firm, is seeking an experienced Plan Consultant to take over an established book of approximately 70 retirement plans. This role includes a mix of standard and select audit-sized plans and requires strong A–Z administration experience in a traditional TPA environment.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on compliance and testing experience, proficiency in Datair (required), and the ability to work independently in a collaborative, non-micromanaged environment. The role will involve a transition to new administration systems over time, so adaptability and a willingness to learn new platforms are important.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle administration for approximately 70 retirement plans.
  • Perform non-discrimination testing (ADP/ACP, Top Heavy, 410(b), 401(a), 402(g), etc.).
  • Prepare and process Forms 5500, 5330, 8955-SSA, 1099-R, and related filings.
  • Conduct trust accounting, financial statement review, and asset reconciliation.
  • Communicate directly with plan sponsors, investment advisors, and recordkeepers.
  • Coordinate with various recordkeeping platforms.
  • Review and apply Secure 2.0 provisions as applicable.
  • Maintain compliance with IRS and DOL regulations.
  • Support transition from legacy administration software to new systems.
  • Manage deadlines and ensure timely completion of all compliance deliverables.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of retirement plan administration experience in a TPA setting.
  • Experience managing an established book of plans independently.
  • Proficiency in Datair pension system required.
  • Experience with FTW document system and PensionPal database preferred.
  • Experience with audit-sized plans preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA regulations and compliance testing.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing government filings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
