Position Title: Retirement Business Development & Marketing Specialist

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a Retirement Business Development & Marketing Specialist to support financial advisors in growing retirement plan business and expanding retirement services within their client base. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, assisting advisors with prospecting efforts, and helping close retirement plan engagements.

The Retirement Business Development & Marketing Specialist serves as a subject matter expert on retirement plans, collaborating with financial advisors and external partners to develop proposals, present retirement solutions, and support client discussions. The role requires strong retirement plan knowledge, excellent relationship-building skills, and the ability to consult with advisors and clients on retirement plan structures and benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with financial advisors, third-party administrators, recordkeepers, and DCIO wholesalers to identify new retirement plan opportunities.
  • Educate financial advisors on retirement plan services and help them identify potential plan prospects within their client base.
  • Support financial advisors in discussions with clients regarding retirement plan solutions and services.
  • Participate in meetings with financial advisors and clients to present retirement plan services and explain available options.
  • Utilize a consultative approach to understand client objectives and recommend appropriate retirement plan strategies.
  • Prepare proposals, marketing materials, and presentations to support retirement plan sales opportunities.
  • Coordinate with accountants, TPAs, and other professional advisors involved in client retirement plan decisions.
  • Conduct branch meetings and presentations to educate advisors and promote retirement plan capabilities.
  • Participate in seminars, educational events, and industry meetings to promote retirement plan services.
  • Maintain knowledge of retirement plan products, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
  • Travel as needed to meet with advisors and clients and support business development initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in retirement plans, financial services, or related business development roles.
  • Strong understanding of retirement plan structures including 401(k), Cash Balance, and Non-Qualified plans.
  • Knowledge of retirement plan regulations and compliance considerations.
  • Experience building relationships with financial advisors and financial services professionals.
  • Ability to communicate complex retirement plan concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Strong presentation and consultative sales skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple business development opportunities simultaneously.
  • FINRA Series 7 license required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
