Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a Regional Plan Consultant to drive retirement plan sales growth by developing relationships with financial advisors, recordkeepers, CPAs, and other referral partners within a designated territory. This role focuses on expanding the firm’s distribution network and promoting TPA, 3(16), and retirement plan consulting services.

The Regional Plan Consultant will operate as both a territory sales leader and a technical resource, helping advisors and plan sponsors understand retirement plan design strategies while identifying opportunities for new business. The ideal candidate is a motivated sales professional who thrives in an activity-driven environment and enjoys building strong advisor relationships while expanding market presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a defined regional territory focused on retirement plan sales growth.
  • Build and maintain relationships with financial advisors, recordkeepers, CPAs, and other referral partners.
  • Promote TPA services, 3(16) fiduciary services, and retirement plan consulting solutions to advisors and employers.
  • Expand the firm’s distribution network by identifying new advisor and platform relationships.
  • Conduct regular meetings with financial advisors and centers of influence to generate new opportunities.
  • Provide plan design guidance and retirement plan consulting support during sales discussions.
  • Prepare proposals and coordinate responses to retirement plan RFP opportunities.
  • Organize and deliver educational presentations and training sessions for advisors and referral partners.
  • Track and manage sales activity, pipeline opportunities, and territory performance metrics.
  • Forecast expected sales outcomes and report on business development progress.
  • Travel within the territory to support advisor relationships and business development initiatives.
  • Represent the organization professionally in industry events and advisor meetings.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • Experience selling retirement plan services, including TPA or 3(16) fiduciary services, through advisor distribution networks.
  • Experience working with financial advisors, broker-dealers, platform providers, or other centers of influence.
  • Knowledge of defined contribution retirement plans, particularly 401(k) plans.
  • Understanding of ERISA regulations and defined contribution compliance considerations.
  • Strong presentation, relationship-building, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing a territory and sales pipeline.
  • Motivated, activity-driven sales professional with strong follow-up and prospecting skills.
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 50 percent within the territory.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Completion of ASPPA RPF1 and RPF2 examinations within one year of hire.
  • Completion of the Kravitz Cash Balance Consultant Certification program within six months of hire.
