Position Overview:

Our client is seeking experienced AMP Account Managers to support defined contribution retirement plan clients within a PEP and 402(a) fiduciary service model. This role focuses on reviewing and approving retirement plan administration work, maintaining strong client relationships, and providing consulting support to plan sponsors and advisors.

The position is designed as a non-production role where the Account Manager oversees administration work performed by internal teams while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and high-quality service delivery. The role offers strong operational support through dedicated implementation, document, loan, distribution, and special projects teams, allowing Account Managers to focus on client service, consulting, and quality review.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain strong relationships with plan sponsors and investment advisors while ensuring high client retention.
  • Manage a caseload of PEP and 402(a) retirement plan clients.
  • Review and approve administration work completed by internal teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Consult with clients and advisors regarding plan operations and administrative matters.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, recordkeepers, and advisors to ensure smooth plan administration.
  • Manage and prioritize workload to meet team goals and weekly deadlines.
  • Provide excellent client service and proactive communication regarding plan operations and industry developments.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with leadership and team members regarding deadlines and industry developments.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in A–Z 401(k) plan administration or consulting related to retirement plan administration.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Industry designations through NIPA or ASPPA required.
  • Strong knowledge of retirement plan compliance testing including ADP/ACP, 415, 410(b), Top Heavy, and 401(a)(4) nondiscrimination testing.
  • Experience reviewing retirement plan administration work and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Experience consulting with clients regarding retirement plan operations and administration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Familiarity with PEP, 402(a), or 3(16) fiduciary service models is considered a plus.
