Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Manager to oversee the review and preparation of our compliance and consulting reports. This role will primarily focus on reviewing compliance services and ensuring accuracy and consistency in our deliverables. The Quality Control Manager will work closely with internal teams to provide training and guidance based on the outcomes of these reviews. Additionally, this position may involve occasional communication with clients or advisors to address any questions or concerns. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams to maintain the highest standards of quality in our services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and manage compliance testing reports, including coverage, compensation ratio, ADP/ACP, top-heavy, and limitations testing, as well as contribution calculations for cross-tested profit-sharing and self-employed income.
- Ensure accurate controlled group determinations and timely analysis of findings.
- Review and provide feedback on consulting projects, ensuring they align with plan documents and regulatory standards.
- Guide consultants on complex projects and offer insights based on past experience and knowledge of plan provisions.
- Conduct internal training sessions based on review findings and provide proactive communication to consultants on best practices.
- Communicate with clients, advisors, and recordkeepers as necessary to resolve issues and answer questions, ensuring timely follow-up.
- Utilize Excel for calculations, testing, and data analysis, and embrace new technology to improve processes.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries promptly and ensuring commitments are met.
- Work independently on routine matters while seeking guidance on complex issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient project completion and deliver consistent, high-quality results for clients.
- Stay up to date with industry regulations and continuously improve knowledge through professional development programs.
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Minimum 3-5 years performing testing (coverage, compensation ratio, ADP/ACP, top heavy and limitations), contribution calcs (including cross-tested profit sharing and self-employed income calc), and controlled group determination.
Skills Required:
- Compliance Expertise: In-depth knowledge of retirement plan testing (ADP/ACP, coverage, compensation, top-heavy, contribution calculations).
- Advanced Excel Skills: Proficient in using Excel for calculations, data analysis, and testing.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot discrepancies and ensure accuracy in compliance reports.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for explaining complex issues clearly.
- Problem-Solving: Critical thinking to address compliance challenges and offer solutions.
- Client Service: High-quality customer service with prompt issue resolution.
- Training & Mentoring: Experience in guiding and developing junior consultants.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with technology and software, including FTW.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Time Management: Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of industry regulations (IRS, ERISA, etc.).
