Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Obtain data from clients and follow up as needed.
- Prepare quarterly and annual administration, including trust accounting and related tasks.
- Respond to client inquiries and foster client relationships.
- Prepare Form 5500, ERISA reports, and accompanying tax forms for each plan.
- Conduct tests including ADP, ACP, and 410(b), and monitor compliance with 415 and 402(g) limits.
- Check and process distributions, including terminations, hardship withdrawals, and loans.
- Calculate annual employer profit sharing and matching contributions.
- Monitor and process incoming receipts of information from clients and investment companies.
- Manage plan terminations and review documents for new and restated plans.
- Handle IRS and internal client audits, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with other Pension Administrators, providing support and guidance as needed.
- Research and address special questions related to new rules and regulations.
- Ensure database reports are current and monitor plans for compliance with applicable laws.
- Consult clients on rules surrounding the administration of QDROs.
- Participate in on-site client committee meetings and annual reviews.
- Assist the Sales Team with RFP completion and the Conversion Team with new client setup.
- Maintain knowledge of and compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field required.
- Good customer service, communication, and analytical skills.
- Must be highly organized with an attention to detail.
- Must have solid project management experience and the ability to multitask.
- Must be knowledgeable with computers and have the ability to work well with others.
- A minimum of 3 years of related experience is necessary, as well as experience in Pension Plan Administration and Retirement Industry knowledge.
Skills Required:
- Strong A-Z Plan Administration Experience.
- The focus is primarily on 401(k) plans, experience with other retirement plans is a plus (403(b) & 457).
- Self-motivated.
- Compliance + 5500’s.
- ASPPA designations are highly preferred.
- OmniPlus for Administration & ASC for Compliance (not required).
