Our client is a leading third-party pension administration firm committed to delivering an exceptional client experience—providing accurate, timely work and personalized service that anticipates and meets client needs. Their team includes a VP-level professional, a group of experienced Senior Client Managers/Retirement Plan Administrators, and dedicated support staff handling loans, distributions, documents, and junior administrative tasks.
They are seeking a mid to senior-level pension professional to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate is client-focused, highly accountable, and ready to make an immediate impact. This individual will use ASC software to efficiently manage a block of business, ensuring top-tier service and seamless pension administration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicating with clients about their CB plan and/or the CB side of their Combo plan while working on the DB team with an in-house EA.
- Communicating clearly with clients, including timely data gathering, problem-solving, and consulting focused on a 2-week turnaround.
- Building solid relationships with clients.
- Perform all aspects of CB plan administration, including, but not limited to:
- Preparing and checking valuations, as well as compliance testing.
- Year-end processing, including trust accounting, tax forms, disclosures, and participant statements.
Experience and Certifications Preferred:
- Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience using FT Williams Software.
Skills Required:
- 5-7+ years of experience at a TPA firm as a full A-Z performing the entire range of retirement plan administration tasks for CB and Combo plans (401(k)/Cash Balance).
- This role is on the DB Team working with an in-house Enrolled Actuary.
- The main responsibility of this role is doing full administration of CB plans.
- The book of business for this role may also include Combo plans.
- Current experience using ASC software for administration (highly preferred).
- Must be holding an active ASPPA and/or NIPA credential.
- Strong math skills. Must understand valuations, compliance testing, distribution and loan processing, related tax forms, as well as disclosure requirements and government regulations.
- Ability to work on a small team (12-person company).
